Jojo smokes before a night of work in the bars in Angeles City, known for its red light district. After being displaced from Typhoon Haiyan, Jojo had to go back to work in the red light district shortly after giving birth. In the wake of typhoons, women and girls from areas vulnerable to natural disasters, particularly Eastern Visayas, are driven into the sex trade amidst constant displacement from storms.

Women Talk is a monthly conversation between a member of Women Photograph and Kerry Manders. This week is Hannah Reyes Morales — a Filipina photographer based in Manila.

From my series Banned Beauty. Veronica, 28, massages the breasts of her 10-year-old daughter, Michelle, as her other children watch. Her older daughter, not pictured, refused to have her breasts ironed and became pregnant at the age of 14. Determined to keep her younger girls from making the same mistake, Veronica ironed their breasts. This is near the city of Bafoussam in Cameroon, Africa.

Women Talk is a monthly conversation between a member of Women Photograph and Kerry Manders. This week is Heba Khamis, an Egyptian photographer currently based in Amsterdam.

Oriana Koren on Race & Inclusion

In recognizing humanity, it’s impossible to not want to advocate for an inclusive world in which multiple viewpoints -- especially those relegated to the margins -- are presented with dignity, respect, and importance. None of us should feel good about having a hand in a limiting, exclusionary industry. We live in a diverse world. Humans come in all colors, in all body types, in all genders, with different life experiences, and we come together on any given day: diverse, different, compelling.
