Natura is project that directs its gaze towards zoos. These parks represent the downfall of a civilization and underline the tenuous relationship we maintain with the wild. In this project, animals are reduced to simple apparitions, illusions of the wild, drawings from a natural history book.
Zahara Gómez (1983) is an Argentinian-Spanish photographer based in Mexico. She has an M.A. in Art History and currently works for a range of different publications as a freelance photographer. In her personal work, she explores stories about history and memories. Through archival work and field work, she investigates that which at first glance appears incomprehensible, but that nonetheless becomes visible through the reconstruction of a collective memory. Through these themes she faces some of the confusing social realities of our time.
