Fairies Arrive on Hormuz, 2019
Two young women walk through one of the touristy spots of Hormuz Island known for its colorful soil. 42 square kilometers in size, the island is located in the geopolitically critical Strait of Hormuz. It’s one of the world's most strategically important choke points, and also attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.
Kiana Hayeri is an Iranian-Canadian photographer, with most of her projects exploring complex topics such as migration, adolescence, identity and sexuality. Kiana is a TED Senior Fellow and is currently based out of Kabul, Afghanistan.
