Ele and Lee pose for a portrait, as part of How She Loves, a project looking at the performativity surrounding queer women in Singapore. While they envision a future together, they see themselves building a life outside of Singapore.
Charmaine Poh is a Chinese Singaporean artist, photographer, and writer based between Singapore and Berlin. Her conceptual documentary projects look at ideas of gender, sexuality, memory, and solitude in the Asian context. Her work has been showcased through the International Center of Photography, Photoville, The New York Times, WeTransfer, and many more. She graduated from Tufts University with an B.A. in International Relations, and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Visual and Media Anthropology at the Freie Universität Berlin.
